Genesys Cloud CX lists at $75, $115, $155 and $240 a user a month for CX 1 to CX 4 on an annual commitment. Its own AWS Marketplace listing prices a 500-agent commitment at $840,000 a year, about $140 an agent a month.

Key takeaways

  • Genesys Cloud CX lists four tiers from $75 to $240 a user a month on annual billing, with CX 1 covering voice only and digital channels an add-on.
  • Genesys's own AWS Marketplace listing prices a 500-agent enterprise commitment at $840,000 for twelve months, which works out at $140 an agent a month.
  • Every Genesys Cloud CX plan includes 250 named or 350 concurrent AI Experience tokens per organization per month, with no published rate for tokens beyond that allowance.
  • Genesys lists twelve add-ons on its pricing page, including telephony and workforce engagement, and publishes a price for none of them.
  • Vendr's contract data shows a median Genesys contract of $49,890 a year from 30 purchases, ranging from $3,600 to $240,390.
How Much Does Genesys Cloud CX Cost in 2026? Every Plan and Real Contract Price

Genesys Cloud CX costs $75, $115, $155 or $240 a user a month for CX 1 to CX 4 on an annual commitment, and Genesys's own AWS Marketplace listing prices a 500-agent commitment at $840,000 a year, about $140 an agent a month. Both were read on September 22, 2026 and rechecked on September 24, 2026.

All four list prices come from genesys.com/pricing with the currency set to USD and the license type set to Named. The page carries its own caveat, verbatim: "This page is for information purposes only and subject to change. Prices shown are based on an annual commitment. Usage-based pricing may apply."

What does each Genesys tier include, and what does it leave out?

The plan cards make the four tiers look cumulative. The compare-editions table is more useful, because it marks what is an add-on rather than included:

  • CX 1 ($75) is voice only in practice. Digital channels, omnichannel routing and workforce engagement management are all marked "Add-on" at this tier.
  • CX 2 ($115) adds digital channels, omnichannel routing, quality assurance and compliance, and knowledge. Workforce engagement management is still an add-on.
  • CX 3 ($155) adds full workforce engagement: employee performance, resource management, forecasting and scheduling.
  • CX 4 ($240) adds journey management and, uniquely, an AI allowance: "30 AI Experience tokens per named agent" (39 per concurrent agent). It is also the only tier where Agent Copilot features such as post-interaction summaries are included rather than paid for in tokens.

So the real jump is from CX 1 to CX 2. If you need any channel other than voice, the $75 headline isn't your price.

What are Genesys AI Experience tokens, and what do they cost?

Every Genesys tier ships with AI turned on, and every tier meters part of it. The pricing page states it plainly: "All plans natively enabled with ready-to-use Genesys Cloud AI capabilities. Genesys Cloud AI Experience tokens required for certain features. 250 named / 350 concurrent tokens per org/month included."

Two hundred and fifty tokens per organization per month is a small allowance for a contact center of any size, which is why CX 4 bundles 30 tokens per named agent on top. The page adds that more tokens "can be purchased based on usage or at a discounted rate upfront", but it never publishes the price of a token beyond the allowance, or which features consume how many. That is the single biggest unknown in a Genesys quote, and it's the number to ask for first.

The incentive is worth naming. A seat-priced platform earns more as your headcount grows, so it has no reason to help you need fewer agents. A token meter earns more as the AI does more work. Genesys runs both at once, which means neither side of the model pushes strongly toward automation, and it also means your bill can rise from two directions in the same quarter. Our breakdown of AI agent pricing models covers what each unit rewards.

What does Genesys charge for 500 agents on AWS Marketplace?

Genesys sells Genesys Cloud CX through AWS Marketplace, and that listing carries real contract dimensions. Read on September 22, 2026:

DimensionDescriptionCost per 12 months
Genesys Cloud 3 EntGC3 500 Agent Enterprise Commitment$840,000.00
Pointillist by GenesysBasic Enterprise$250,000.00
Genesys EXGenesys Cloud EX Voice Only$1,080.00

Two further dimensions bill on usage on top of the contract, both listed at $0.01 a unit: "Usage based charges for Core Service Usage and Overage" and "Usage based charges for Telephony and Carrier Services". The listing offers 12, 24 and 36-month terms, with the 36-month tab marked "save up to 11%".

The useful arithmetic: $840,000 for 500 agents on a CX 3 equivalent is $1,680 an agent a year, or $140 an agent a month, against the $155 list price on genesys.com. That's about 10% under list, at 500 seats, before any negotiation. It's the only public data point that shows what volume does to a Genesys price, and it is derived from Genesys's own listing rather than an estimate.

Which Genesys add-ons have no published price?

Genesys lists twelve add-ons on its pricing page and prices none of them (six on September 22, rechecked as twelve on September 24, 2026):

Two of these are what turn CX 1 into a working omnichannel center. If a quote arrives built on CX 1 plus Digital plus Omnichannel routing plus Workforce engagement, nothing published lets you check whether it beats simply buying CX 3 at $155.

Genesys lists twelve add-ons on its pricing page, from workforce engagement to BYOI, with the CX tiers each one is available for and no prices.

What do companies actually pay for Genesys?

Vendr, which sells procurement help rather than a competing platform, showed a median Genesys contract of $49,890 a year from 30 purchases on September 22, 2026, across 35 deals handled, with a range from $3,600 to $240,390. The page was last updated in February 2026.

A $49,890 median is roughly 27 agents on CX 3 list, or 55 on CX 1. The 30-purchase sample is small, and it clearly skews smaller than the 500-agent AWS commitment, so read it as evidence about mid-market Genesys buyers rather than about the enterprise business.

What does Genesys cost for 20, 100 or 500 agents?

Assumptions stated per row. All use the published named-license annual rate, and none include AI Experience tokens beyond the included 250 per org per month, telephony, carrier charges or professional services.

Small: 20 agents on CX 2. 20 × $115 = $2,300 a month, $27,600 a year. CX 2 is the floor for a team that answers email or chat alongside calls. The same 20 agents on CX 1 would be $18,000 a year, but digital channels and omnichannel routing would each be an unpriced add-on on top.

Mid: 100 agents on CX 3. 100 × $155 = $15,500 a month, $186,000 a year, with full workforce engagement included. This is nearly four times Vendr's median, which is the clearest sign that Vendr's sample isn't enterprise Genesys.

Large: 500 agents, priced two ways. At CX 3 list, 500 × $155 = $77,500 a month, $930,000 a year. On Genesys's own AWS Marketplace 12-month commitment for 500 agents, $840,000 a year, about 10% less, plus usage-based charges for core service, overage and telephony at $0.01 a unit. Add Pointillist at $250,000 and the AWS contract reaches $1,090,000.

The three rows show the shape of Genesys's economics clearly: the per-seat price barely moves until you reach several hundred agents, at which point a marketplace commitment takes roughly a tenth off.

What makes a Genesys bill go up?

  • Channel mix. Anything beyond voice moves you from CX 1 to CX 2, a 53% increase per seat.
  • Workforce engagement. Included at CX 3 and an unpriced add-on below it.
  • AI Experience tokens. 250 per organization per month included, no published rate beyond it.
  • Telephony and carrier charges. Metered on the AWS listing at $0.01 a unit and absent from the website price entirely.
  • Add-ons with no list price. Twelve of them, two of which are needed to make CX 1 usable beyond voice.
  • Contract length. The AWS listing prices 12, 24 and 36-month terms, with up to 11% off at 36 months.

How does Genesys pricing compare with Dialpad and Aircall?

PlatformEntry planPublished priceTop published tierChecked
Genesys Cloud CXCX 1$75 user/month annual$240 (CX 4)Sep 22, 2026
Dialpad SupportEssentials$80 user/month annual$150 (Premium)Sep 22, 2026
AircallEssentials$30 license/month annual$50 (Professional)Sep 22, 2026

Genesys and Dialpad Support start within $5 of each other, and then diverge: Genesys's top tier is 60% above Dialpad's, and it is the only one of the three that meters AI separately from the seat. Aircall is a different class of product at a third of the price. Our guides to Genesys Cloud, Dialpad, Aircall and Five9 cover what each platform actually does.

Genesys suits teams running a genuine contact center at 50 agents or more, with voice at the center, compliance requirements and the procurement capacity for an annual commitment. It's the wrong fit if you're under about 20 agents, because CX 2 at $115 a seat buys routing and workforce tooling that a small team will not use, or if almost all your volume is email and chat tickets, where a help desk plus an AI layer costs an order of magnitude less.

What do Genesys users say?

Genesys Cloud CX holds 4.4 out of 5 from 1,571 reviews on G2, checked September 22, 2026. The platform's depth is what reviewers praise and what they warn about in the same breath: the configuration surface is large enough that most deployments involve either a partner or a long internal project. On pricing specifically, the recurring theme in this category is the gap between a list price per seat and a quote that includes the add-ons, which the twelve unpriced add-ons above explain directly.

How we researched this

On September 22, 2026 we checked genesys.com/pricing in a browser with the currency set to USD and the license type set to Named, recorded all four list prices, the compare-editions table and every add-on, and copied the AI Experience token footnote verbatim. We then opened the Genesys Cloud CX listing on AWS Marketplace, captured it first-hand, and recorded all three contract dimensions and both usage dimensions across the 12, 24 and 36-month tabs. We searched Azure and Google Cloud marketplaces and found no priced Genesys SaaS offer. On September 24, 2026 we rechecked the four list prices, the token footnote, the add-on list and the AWS dimensions. Vendr's Genesys page and G2's Genesys Cloud CX listing were read the same day. We're not a Genesys customer, so every figure here is published rather than billed, and the $140 per agent per month is our own arithmetic on Genesys's $840,000 line, flagged that way everywhere it appears.

Where does Macha fit next to Genesys?

Genesys is a contact center platform. Macha is an AI agent layer that runs on top of the Zendesk, Freshdesk, Gorgias, Front, HubSpot or Intercom a team already uses, and it is not a contact center, not a help desk and not a phone system. At 500 agents and $840,000 a year, these aren't competing purchases.

The one place the comparison is real is the AI line. If what you are actually pricing is an AI that resolves support tickets, Genesys meters that through AI Experience tokens whose rate is not published, while Macha is one plan on monthly ticket volume, $299/month for 750 tickets, about $0.40 per ticket at every tier, billed monthly, with setup and monitoring by the Macha team, included on every plan. A ticket is one thread between Macha and one person, charged once no matter how many messages it takes. Above 10,000 tickets a month Macha is priced by quote, so at contact-center scale neither side has a published number and both are a conversation. The tiers are on our pricing page, and there is $50 of free usage (about 125 tickets), no credit card, no time limit at dashboard.getmacha.com/signup.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Genesys cost? Genesys Cloud CX lists at $75, $115, $155 and $240 a user a month for CX 1 through CX 4, billed annually, read on genesys.com/pricing on September 22, 2026. Genesys's own AWS Marketplace listing prices a 500-agent CX 3 enterprise commitment at $840,000 for twelve months, which is $140 an agent a month.

What is the difference between Genesys Cloud CX 1 and CX 2? CX 1 at $75 is voice in practice: the compare-editions table marks digital channels and omnichannel routing as add-ons at that tier. CX 2 at $115 includes both, plus quality assurance, compliance and knowledge. If you handle anything other than calls, CX 2 is your real entry price.

What are Genesys AI Experience tokens and what do they cost? They are the meter behind certain AI features. Genesys includes "250 named / 350 concurrent tokens per org/month" on every plan and bundles 30 per named agent on CX 4. The price of a token beyond the allowance is not published anywhere we could find, including the AWS Marketplace listing.

Is Genesys cheaper on AWS Marketplace? At 500 agents, yes, by about 10%. The AWS 12-month commitment works out at $140 an agent a month against a $155 CX 3 list price, and the listing offers a further "save up to 11%" on a 36-month term. Usage charges for core service, overage and telephony bill on top at $0.01 a unit.

Does Genesys publish prices for its add-ons? No. Twelve add-ons are listed on the pricing page as of September 24, 2026, including workforce engagement, work automation, telephony and the Salesforce integration, and none carries a price. Two of them are what a CX 1 deployment needs to handle digital channels at all.

What do companies typically pay for Genesys? Vendr's contract data showed a median of $49,890 a year from 30 purchases on September 22, 2026, in a range from $3,600 to $240,390. That sample sits well below the 500-agent enterprise commitments on the AWS listing, so it describes mid-market buyers.

Is there a free trial of Genesys Cloud CX? The pricing page routes every plan to "Get custom pricing" rather than a self-serve signup, so the plan cards offer no published self-serve trial. Assume a sales conversation.

What should you ask Genesys before signing?

Genesys publishes more than its competitors do and still leaves the two numbers that decide a large deal unpublished: the price of an AI Experience token and the price of the twelve add-ons. The list prices are real enough to plan with, the AWS Marketplace listing is a genuine check on what volume buys, and the $140 per agent per month it implies at 500 seats is the most useful public benchmark available. Price your seats off the table above, work out which add-ons your channel mix forces, and get the token rate in writing before you sign anything.
