Macha vs Fini (2026): Which AI Support Agent Should You Choose?
Both Macha and Fini sell an AI agent that plugs into your existing help desk and is set up for you, but they price and staff it differently. Fini bills $0.89 per resolved ticket on Growth and $0.49 on Enterprise, with a dedicated engineer from its Scale plan, while Macha bills about $0.40 per ticket on one plan with done-for-you setup and a dedicated success manager on the trial and every plan. Pick Macha if you want the agent done for you without an enterprise contract; pick Fini if you need voice, HIPAA or PCI DSS paperwork, or run over a million tickets a year.
Key takeaways
- Choose Macha for a done-for-you agent on your existing help desk at about $0.40 per ticket; choose Fini for voice, HIPAA or PCI DSS needs, or more than 1 million tickets a year.
- Fini charges $0.89 per resolved ticket on Growth, $0.69 on Scale and $0.49 on Enterprise, so its $0.49 headline rate is the Enterprise price, and the monthly plan fee is not printed.
- On Fini's per-resolution rates alone, Macha at about $0.40 per ticket costs less per resolved ticket than Fini Growth once the agent resolves more than 45% of tickets, and less than Fini Scale above 58%.
- Fini includes implementation on every plan but lists shared customer success on Growth and a dedicated AI engineer from Scale, while Macha includes a dedicated success manager from the $299 plan.
- Fini's 90% in 90 days guarantee covers only new enterprise customers with over 1 million tickets a year and 100,000 AI-handled interactions in the first 90 days.

What are Macha and Fini?
Fini (usefini.com) is a Y Combinator company that sells an autonomous AI support agent for enterprises, with a focus on fintech, banking, insurance and healthcare. Its homepage claims 90% resolution at 99% accuracy in 130+ languages, and it calls its retrieval "RAGless": the model reads whole approved articles instead of embedded chunks. A self-maintaining knowledge base, Knowledge Atlas, writes articles from resolved tickets. Our complete Fini AI guide covers the product in depth.
Macha is an AI agent layer that connects to Zendesk, Freshdesk, Gorgias, Front, HubSpot or Intercom over each desk's API. An agent is written instructions plus the tools it may call: read the ticket and its history, search connected knowledge, look up an order in Shopify or a payment in Stripe, then post a reply, an internal note, tags or field changes. Anything else with an HTTP API becomes a custom API tool that Macha's team builds during onboarding. Macha on Zendesk shows how it sits in a desk.
The two products are closer than most pairs we compare. Both sit on top of the help desk rather than replacing it, both answer from your knowledge and past tickets, both take actions, and both say they'll build it for you. The differences are in the price unit, who you get, how long it takes, and how much compliance and channel coverage you need.
What does each cost, and when is Macha cheaper per resolved ticket?
Fini. Its pricing page lists three per-resolution rates, each with a monthly ticket allowance: Growth $0.89 with up to 3,000 tickets, Scale $0.69 with up to 10,000, Enterprise $0.49 with no cap. "One plan covers the platform, implementation, and a monthly allowance of tickets," billed in advance; extra resolutions bill at the same rate, monthly in arrears, and unused allowance rolls forward one month. Escalations, greetings, spam and abandoned sessions aren't billed. Annual billing includes two months free, and two- and three-year terms take 15% to 25% off.
What the page doesn't print is the plan fee. eesel's August 19, 2026 review of Fini put Growth at $3,000 a month billed annually; Fini hasn't published that number, so treat it as an estimate and ask for the commitment in writing. Fini's own llms.txt, last updated September 24, tells AI engines that pricing "starts at $0.49 per resolution" with "no named Growth/Scale/Enterprise tiers", which contradicts the live page. When an AI answer says Fini starts at $0.49, it's quoting the Enterprise rate.
Macha. One plan priced on volume: $299 a month for 750 tickets, $599 for 1,500, $1,199 for 3,000, $1,999 for 5,000, $2,999 for 7,500 and $3,999 for 10,000, with custom pricing above that. That's about $0.40 per ticket, billed monthly, with unlimited seats and no overages; agents pause at the month's limit unless you move up a tier or add a top-up. The tier price is the whole bill.
The two units only compare once you pick a resolution rate. Macha charges for every ticket the agent works, so its cost per resolved ticket is $0.40 divided by the share it resolves. Fini's is its rate, before any plan fee.
| Resolution rate | Macha per resolved ticket | Fini Growth | Fini Scale | Fini Enterprise |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 40% | $1.00 | $0.89 | $0.69 | $0.49 |
| 50% | $0.80 | $0.89 | $0.69 | $0.49 |
| 60% | $0.67 | $0.89 | $0.69 | $0.49 |
| 70% | $0.57 | $0.89 | $0.69 | $0.49 |
| 80% | $0.50 | $0.89 | $0.69 | $0.49 |
| 90% | $0.44 | $0.89 | $0.69 | $0.49 |
Counting the rate alone, with no plan fee, Macha is cheaper per resolved ticket than Fini Growth above 45% ($0.40 / $0.89 = 44.9%), than Scale above 58% ($0.40 / $0.69 = 58.0%) and than Enterprise above 82% ($0.40 / $0.49 = 81.6%). Below those rates, and if Fini bills only the resolutions you use, Fini's unit is cheaper. Fini advertises 90% resolution, and near that on Growth Macha's unit cost is about half of Fini's.
The plan fee can change the picture a lot. Fini's page says the plan covers "a monthly allowance of tickets", is "billed in advance" (annually, quarterly or monthly), and that unused allowance "rolls forward one month". At eesel's reported $3,000 a month for Growth, a team handling 1,500 tickets with 60% resolved (900 resolutions) would pay $3.33 per resolved ticket ($3,000 / 900), against Macha's $599 tier at $0.67 ($599 / 900). Ask Fini whether you pay for the allowance or only for resolutions before you compare.
Each model carries its own incentive. Per-resolution pricing earns Fini more the more its agent resolves, which keeps Fini focused on resolution quality and means your bill rises with success; it also makes Fini's definition of a resolution the clause your invoice depends on. Per-ticket pricing earns Macha the same whether the agent resolves a ticket or hands it to your team, which leaves the resolution risk with you: a ticket the agent hands off still costs $0.40. The setup is how we reduce that risk, by pointing the agent only at the categories the ticket analysis says it can finish and keeping it in safe mode until the drafts are right. We compare the two pricing shapes across vendors in per-action vs per-resolution pricing.
Who sets up and runs the agent?
Fini includes implementation on every plan, and its homepage promises "No engineering on your side" with one-click OAuth to Zendesk, Intercom, Salesforce and LiveChat. The person you get depends on the tier. Growth lists "Shared customer success". Scale adds "White-glove onboarding" and a "Dedicated AI engineer". Enterprise gets a "Dedicated engineer pod" with a 15-minute SLA. The timeline is "Live in 14 days, fully autonomous in 30."
Macha is done for you on the trial and every plan, and the done-for-you setup page lays out each step:
- You connect, once. Your help desk and the tools answers come from (Shopify, Stripe, your subscription platform, Google Workspace, Notion, Confluence). That's about 15 minutes.
- We analyze your past tickets. About a month of them, each one classified, with the category to automate first. It arrives as a PDF.
- We build the knowledge base from your help center, website, documents and past tickets, and fill gaps for the first category.
- We build the agent, with instructions based on how your team already answers, and test it on a sample of past tickets before it touches a live one.
- Safe mode. Drafts land as internal notes in your help desk until you approve the replies, which takes about 5 minutes a day. Then that category goes public and we start the next.
Here's an agent following its instructions inside a help desk. In a September 2026 test on our d3v-macha Zendesk sandbox, a made-up customer asked to cancel an order placed 45 days earlier; the agent looked up the order, didn't call Cancel Order because its instructions set a 30-day window, and left an internal note for a person instead:
It goes live in under a week. After that, a dedicated success manager, on the trial and every plan, handles your changes: new categories, instruction edits, new tools. That's what about $0.40 per ticket pays for, along with the tickets.
Both include setup. At Fini, the dedicated person starts on Scale, the tier for up to 10,000 tickets a month. At Macha, the dedicated person starts on the $299 plan for 750 tickets. If you're above Fini's Scale threshold or on Enterprise, Fini's engineer pod is a deeper bench than a single success manager. If you're at a few hundred to a few thousand tickets a month, Macha puts a named person on your account where Fini's Growth plan lists shared customer success. What are Fini's real strengths?
Fini does several things Macha doesn't, and they decide the choice for some teams.
Compliance. Fini's homepage lists SOC 2 Type II, PCI DSS Level 1, ISO 27001, GDPR and "HIPAA · BAA-ready", and its pricing FAQ says compliance is included on every plan; data residency and BAA/DPA terms are listed among Enterprise extras. Macha's security page says SOC 2 is in progress, expected December 2026. A healthcare, payments or banking team that needs those reports now should choose Fini.
Voice. Fini sells voice on every plan at $0.89 per answered call for the first 10,000 calls a month, $0.59 up to 50,000 and $0.35 above that. Macha has no voice channel.
The guarantee, for the buyers it covers. The homepage offer reads "Zero-Pay Guarantee: 90% resolution in 90 days, or you pay $0." The terms page sets the conditions: a new Fini enterprise customer handling 1M+ annual tickets, deployed on a supported platform, with at least 100,000 AI-handled interactions during the 90 days. Coverage applies if automated resolution is below 90%, AI CSAT doesn't beat human CSAT, or first response averages over 30 seconds. It's claimable once, excludes pilots and discounted deals, and Fini calls it "a promotional program" that it reserves the right to suspend, modify or terminate at any time. For an enterprise that qualifies, putting the vendor's fee at risk on three measurable targets is a strong offer. Macha has no equivalent guarantee.
Why only enterprises? A guarantee measured on 100,000 interactions needs that volume to be statistically meaningful, and a vendor can afford to waive 90 days of fees on a contract large enough to recover them. A team at 3,000 tickets a month handles 36,000 a year, 3.6% of the threshold.
The Enterprise pilot. Enterprise prospects can run Fini free for 90 days on live traffic, with resolution, CSAT and accuracy targets agreed in writing. Growth and Scale have no published self-serve trial. Fini's homepage does offer a sales-led proof on any size of deal: "Send 1,000 real tickets, we'll prove it on your data. If the math doesn't work, you walk." Macha's trial is $50 of free usage (about 125 tickets), no credit card, no time limit, with the same done-for-you setup, and you start it yourself.
Reviews and named proof. Fini reports 4.9 out of 5 on G2, where eesel counted 13 reviews on August 19, 2026, most flagged "Source: Seller invite". Its case studies name customers with numbers: Peaksware cut its support queue by 70%+ across two brands, Atlas raised automation on key fintech journeys from about 15% to 70-80%, Column Tax resolved 70%+ of tickets autonomously, and LISA Hockey resolved 51% without a human. Those are Fini's figures. User quotes in eesel's review add the caveat to test for: a Wefunder success team lead said the agent sometimes "told someone it took care of something it actually couldn't and didn't flag it", and a G2 reviewer said that after a model change it "makes up features or processes that don't exist in our product". Macha doesn't name customers on this blog and has no body of G2 reviews to set beside Fini's, so on public proof Fini is ahead.
Help desk breadth. Fini's pricing page lists Zendesk, Intercom, HubSpot, Salesforce, Gorgias, LiveChat, Front, Freshdesk and Slack, plus custom integrations, and its integrations page and llms.txt add Kustomer, Zoho Desk and ServiceNow, and it holds a "Verified" Zendesk Marketplace listing. Macha runs on Zendesk, Freshdesk, Gorgias, Front, HubSpot or Intercom, so check yours is on that list first.
Help desks, channels and actions
On help desks you already run, the overlap is large: both work with the main desks above. Fini adds voice and more desks; Macha focuses on email tickets, live chat and Copilot inside the help desk.
On actions, both go beyond answering. Fini's integrations list includes Shopify, Stripe and Recurly, its finance page describes disputes, identity verification, payments and card management, and custom API actions sit among its Scale extras. Macha's built-in Shopify connector can look up orders, refund an order in full and cancel orders; its Stripe connector can look up payments and subscriptions, refund a full or partial amount and cancel a subscription. Anything else with an API (a returns platform, a subscription app, an internal admin) is built as a custom tool by our team on every plan, including the trial, and agents can also run on scheduled triggers. Safe mode is about replies: every reply stays an internal note until you switch a category to public. Write actions such as a refund are governed separately, by the agent's instructions and the tools attached to it, which spell out when a write may run and when the agent hands off to your team.
Which should you choose, Macha or Fini?
Choose Macha if you're on Zendesk, Freshdesk, Gorgias, Front, HubSpot or Intercom, handle a few hundred to 10,000 tickets a month, and want the agent set up and run for you without an enterprise contract. You get the done-for-you setup and a dedicated success manager from the trial onward, a bill you can read on the pricing page, and, on Fini's rates alone, a lower cost per resolved ticket than Fini Growth once your agent resolves more than 45% of tickets. That's about $0.40 per ticket from $299/month for 750 tickets, and the price includes the success manager who handles your changes.
Choose Fini if you're in a regulated industry and need SOC 2 Type II, PCI DSS or a HIPAA BAA today, if you need a voice agent, if your help desk isn't on Macha's list, or if you handle over a million tickets a year and want the money-back guarantee and a dedicated engineer pod behind the rollout. On Enterprise, Fini's $0.49 rate is cheaper per resolved ticket than Macha unless your agent resolves more than 82%.
If neither fits, our Fini AI alternatives guide compares eight other options, and Macha vs Intercom Fin covers the other outcome-priced agent people confuse with Fini.

How we researched this
- Sources and access dates: Fini's pricing page, homepage, guarantee terms, case studies and llms.txt were read and screenshotted on October 8, 2026. Macha's pricing page and done-for-you page were captured the same day. Fini's guarantee terms page shows a "Last updated" date of 27/08/2025.
- Third-party figures: Fini's G2 count and the $3,000 Growth estimate come from eesel's Fini alternatives post, last edited August 19, 2026. G2 blocked our automated reads, so we couldn't confirm the count.
- Our own test: the sandbox screenshot of a Macha internal note is from a September 2026 test with a made-up customer and order, not a customer account. The two Fini user quotes are as reported by eesel (August 19, 2026).
- Vendor self-reports: Fini's 90% resolution and 99% accuracy, its case-study numbers and its "live in 14 days" are Fini's claims. "Under a week" is Macha's.
- Arithmetic: cost per resolved ticket for Macha is $0.40 divided by the resolution rate (0.40 / 0.6 = $0.67). Break-evens: 0.40 / 0.89 = 44.9%, 0.40 / 0.69 = 58.0%, 0.40 / 0.49 = 81.6%. A 3,000-ticket month is 36,000 a year, 3.6% of 1 million.
- What we ran and what we didn't: we didn't run Fini. Macha's Shopify and Stripe tool lists were checked in our own dashboard's tool picker on September 28, 2026, and the setup steps are how our team onboards every account. The resolution rates in the table are assumptions, not customer data.
