Best Shopify FAQ Apps (2026): 18 FAQ Builders Scored on App Store Ratings
The best Shopify FAQ apps in October 2026 are Moose AI Chatbot & Live Chat and CWILL, which share the top tier at 10 of 10 on our five public criteria and are the only two with a team inbox. HelpLab FAQ Page, StoreFAQ and D: AI FAQ Page follow on 9. We scored the 18 FAQ apps with 10 or more reviews in the Shopify App Store's FAQ category, and we show every score.
Key takeaways
- Moose and CWILL share the top tier at 10 of 10, because they're the only two apps that document an inbox where a team answers customers.
- HelpLab, StoreFAQ and D: AI FAQ Page score 9 as pure FAQ builders, each pairing a rating of 4.6 or better with more than 130 reviews.
- StoreFAQ is the only app here with a dated public changelog, and its October 13, 2026 release lets Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor manage FAQs.
- Paid plans run from $1.99 a month for AC Questions & Answers to $349 for Asklo, and Trusted Help Center sells a $79 lifetime license.
- An FAQ page becomes part of what an AI agent answers from, so its shipping and return answers should match the replies your team actually sends.

How we ranked them
We read all 7 pages of the App Store's FAQ category on October 30, 2026. Of 146 apps, 53 showed a rating and 22 had 10 or more reviews. We kept the 18 whose main job is answering questions before they become tickets. Each app is scored 0 to 2 on five criteria.
| Criterion | 2 points | 1 point | 0 points |
|---|---|---|---|
| Marketplace reviews | Average 4.5+ with 50+ reviews | 4.0+ with 10+ reviews | Fewer or none |
| Published price | Full price on the listing or vendor site | A free tier or "from" price only | Contact sales |
| Works in the ticket | Acts inside the ticket or agent workspace with documented features | View-only or limited | Unclear |
| Setup effort | Marketplace install with documented self-serve setup | Needs configuration help or an onboarding call | Custom work or undocumented |
| Maintained | Listing or app updated in the last 12 months | 12 to 24 months | Older or unknown |
Three criteria need a stated reading for FAQ apps, applied the same way to all 18.
- Works in the ticket: 2 only for an app that gives the team an inbox where agents reply to customers, with documented features. An FAQ page or storefront widget answers before any message exists, so it scores 1.
- Setup effort: 2 when the listing or vendor publishes setup guides. An App Store install with no setup docs we could find scores 1.
- Maintained: Shopify listings show a launch date but no update date. We used a dated vendor changelog where one exists. Otherwise we compared the live listing with US Wayback Machine copies from the last 12 months, back to the oldest one: a change the developer made since then, to the plans, name or description, counts as an update in the last 12 months. Sections Shopify generates, such as badges and "Works with", don't count. With neither, a launch date under 24 months scores 1 and anything else scores 0.
Free apps score 2 on price. Apps that tie form a tier, ordered inside by review count, which says nothing about quality.
For what to put on the page itself, see our FAQ page examples and FAQ template.

Free covers 25 questions a month; Basic costs $1.99 a month for unlimited Q&A, Advanced $3.99 adds Mailchimp, and Professional $9.99 adds AI answers. The Advanced plan gained a storefront customization line after a May 1, 2026 US copy. It has 29 reviews averaging 5.0. The other four, all on 5 of 10
| App | Rating (reviews) | Price (USD) | Scores (R/P/T/S/M) | Note |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| RT: Instant FAQ, Help Center | 4.9 (31) | Free | 1/2/1/1/0 | FAQ list with WhatsApp, Messenger and Telegram buttons; no setup docs found |
| Enorm FAQ Page & Product FAQs | 3.8 (20) | Free; $4.99 or $9.99 a month | 0/2/1/2/0 | Help center on Crisp; rating under 4.0 |
| Detective FAQ Chat & Helpdesk | 4.8 (17) | Free; $4.99 or $9.99 a month | 1/2/1/1/0 | Pro plan adds order tracking; no setup docs linked |
| Asklo AI Assistant | 4.1 (13) | 30 free requests; $79 to $349 a month | 1/2/1/1/0 | Klevu's AI product-question widget; FAQ link is a homepage section |
How FAQ apps charge
| Model | Apps | What grows your bill |
|---|---|---|
| FAQ or category count | HelpLab, Simesy, Corner, POWR, D: AI FAQ Page, FAQify, Enorm, Detective | Adding questions past the free limit |
| Usage | StoreFAQ (page views, AI chats), Asklo (requests), AC (questions a month on Free) | Traffic and peak season |
| Team and channels | Moose | Seats and email channels |
| Flat, one-time or free | EasySlide, AMP, Trusted (lifetime), CWILL, RT, FAQ Page: Accordion+Help Center | Nothing |
A count-based plan is predictable; a usage plan earns the vendor more when your FAQ works hardest, in November, which is the incentive behind billing by page view. If you'd judge an FAQ app by tickets prevented, measure the deflection rate before and after, not page views.
What an FAQ app changes for an AI agent on the same tickets
An FAQ page and an AI agent answer the same questions. The shopper who doesn't find an answer on the page emails, and that email reaches the agent. So before an agent goes live on a Shopify store's help desk, we read the FAQ.
First, the categories in past tickets: questions that keep arriving despite an FAQ answer show where the page is unclear, and they decide which tools the agent needs, such as order lookup through the Shopify connector. Second, conflicts: a return window or shipping time on the FAQ page that differs from what agents wrote in their replies. An AI agent given both meets two answers to one question, so one of them has to change. Our AI Knowledge Builder builds a knowledge base from historical tickets, which makes those gaps visible; a coverage audit is the longer version. Third, whether replies post as internal notes or public before autonomous mode goes on. Fourth, we replay past tickets in a simulation and read the drafts against the FAQ before anything goes to a customer.
Where AI fits
Four apps here, Moose, CWILL, StoreFAQ and Asklo, sell an AI assistant on the storefront that answers from your store's content. That covers shoppers before they buy, not the email after the order, which lands in the help desk. Macha runs AI agents inside Zendesk, Freshdesk, Gorgias, Front, HubSpot or Intercom, reads Shopify orders through its connector, and replies on those tickets. Refunds and cancellations ask for confirmation, and partial refunds stay with a person. The Macha team sets them up and monitors them. Our map of Shopify app APIs shows which apps an agent can act in. It fits teams that already run one of those desks and want post-purchase email answered without switching tools. Pricing starts at $299/month for 750 tickets, with a trial of $50 of free usage (about 125 tickets), no credit card, no time limit.

FAQs
What is the best FAQ app for Shopify?
Moose and CWILL share the top tier at 10 of 10. Among pure FAQ builders, HelpLab, StoreFAQ and D: AI FAQ Page score 9.
Is there a free FAQ app for Shopify?
Yes. CWILL, RT: Instant FAQ and FAQ Page: Accordion+Help Center are free, and most others have a free plan capped by FAQs, categories, page views or questions a month.
Why do chat apps outscore FAQ builders here?
"Works in the ticket" gives 2 only for a documented staff inbox. Moose and CWILL have one, so FAQ builders top out at 9.

How we researched this
On October 30, 2026 we read all 7 pages of the Shopify App Store's FAQ category and each of the 18 listings in a rendered browser, plus the vendor's docs, pricing page and changelog where it had one. Prices are in US dollars, from US Wayback Machine copies of each listing or the vendor's pricing page. We didn't install or test any app or contact any vendor, and quotes are copied from public reviews on each listing.
Disclosure: Macha makes AI agents that run inside help desks. None of the apps ranked here are Macha products or partners. Nobody paid to be listed, and Macha is not ranked.
