The top-scoring Freshdesk telephony app in October 2026 is Sandeza's Amazon Connect integration, the only one to reach 8 of 10 on our five public criteria, though it has just 4 ratings averaging 3.0. 3CX Click to Call and ZIWO follow on 7. The Freshworks Marketplace files 153 Freshdesk apps under Chat, Video & Telephony, and 83 of them have no ratings. We scored the 14 third-party apps that connect an outside phone system or contact center to Freshdesk and have at least 3 ratings or 50 installs, plus one newer RingCentral listing, and we show every score.

Key takeaways

  • Sandeza's Amazon Connect app is the only one to score 8 of 10, earned on price, placement, setup and upkeep rather than its 4 ratings averaging 3.0.
  • Every listing here is free, so the bill comes from the phone vendor, from $16 per user a month for Zoom Phone to $149 for Voiso's Unlimited plan.
  • Only two ranked apps clear 10 ratings with a 4.0 average, 3CX Click to Call and AmeyoR4, and neither listing has been updated since 2023.
  • Freshworks builds its own extensions for Aircall, Amazon Connect, Genesys, Five9 and RingCentral, and sells Freshcaller from $15 per agent a month plus call minutes.
  • Phone apps open a ticket per call or voicemail, so an AI agent on the same queue needs triggers that recognize call tickets before it replies to anything.

Tiers: 8 (app 1), 7 (apps 2-3), 6 (apps 4-8), 5 (apps 9-10), 4 (apps 11-12), 3 (app 13), 0 (app 14). Ratings were read on each live listing on October 30, 2026. Prices are the phone vendor's US-dollar list prices on annual billing where the page offers a choice.

How phone calls reach a Freshdesk ticket

There are three routes, and the Marketplace mixes them in one category.

The first is Freshworks' own phone product. Freshcaller, which Freshworks also calls Freshdesk Contact Center, lists $0, $15, $39 and $69 per agent a month plus per-minute charges, billed annually. It's the default for a team with no phone system yet, so we leave it out of the ranking.

The second is a Telephony Partner Extension, which Freshworks builds for an outside vendor. There are five, for Aircall, Amazon Connect, Genesys, Five9 and RingCentral. Freshworks' Aircall article says "Tickets are automatically created in Freshdesk for attended calls as well as voicemails." Ratings on these are thin and mixed: the Aircall extension has 12 averaging 2.8, the Five9 one 6 averaging 4.8. They're Freshworks-built, so they sit outside the ranking too. Our Freshdesk Marketplace picks cover them by job, and our Freshdesk integrations guide sets phone apps beside CRM, chat and BI tools.

The third is a vendor-built app, and that's what we ranked. Every one of the 14 listings is free. The vendor earns on seats and minutes, so the app exists to win teams that already pay for Freshdesk, and the incentive is to build it well enough to close the seat sale, then move on. That helps explain why 8 of the 14 listings were last updated in 2024 or earlier. Freshworks has the mirror-image incentive: it builds connectors to rival phone systems while selling its own.

How we scored them

From the Chat, Video & Telephony category we kept third-party apps that connect a phone system or contact center to Freshdesk, name their publisher on the listing, and have 3 or more ratings or 50 or more installs. RingCentral's newer RingCX for Freshworks listing, with no ratings and 10 installs, is the one exception, because it was updated in April 2026 and the older listing it sits beside wasn't.

Reviews use the two-decimal average on the live listing. Price is scored from the phone vendor's page, since every listing is free. Works in the ticket scores 2 only when the listing places the app on the ticket page, such as click-to-dial from a ticket; a softphone in the navigation bar or a background logger scores 1. Maintained uses the listing's "Published by ... ago" date. Ties go to more ratings, then installs, and order inside a tier says nothing about quality.

Left out: Freshworks-built apps; apps whose listing names only a generic "support" account as publisher, including Exotel CTI (16 ratings), Super Receptionist, Maqsam, Telavox, Zadarma, Wildix and Dialpad + FreshDesk; screen recording, remote access, meeting and SMS apps; AI-first call apps (Kickcall AI, ReadyToTalk); and apps below the line, such as Loyally's RingCentral Premium CTI ($12 per agent a month, 1 rating, 10 installs).

Top score, 8 of 10

1. Amazon Connect - Sandeza's ARTA Voice Integration: a softphone that knows the ticket, 8/10

Sandeza's app puts an Amazon Connect softphone inside Freshdesk. It shows the caller's name for known contacts, highlights their active tickets, creates a ticket for first-time callers, and logs call details with Amazon Connect references to the ticket. Agents can call from ticket pages and redial from the last 25 calls. It has 4 ratings averaging 3.00 and 18 installs, and was updated on April 22, 2026. The ratings split two 5-star and two 1-star; Agustín Gomez (1 star, July 2025) wrote: "i can´t conect and no test the app".

Scores: reviews 0, price 2, works in the ticket 2, setup 2, maintained 2.

The app is free, and Amazon Connect publishes usage pricing of $0.038 per voice minute, with standard telephony rates on top. Setup asks you to allowlist your Freshdesk domain and a second address in Amazon Connect's Approved Origins, which the listing labels CloudFront but which sits on hostingersite.com. Amazon's admin guide says every domain that embeds the Contact Control Panel must be on that allowlist, so the entry lets that hostingersite.com page load your contact center's softphone. Ask Sandeza what the address serves and who controls it before you add it. Sandeza also lists a paid Voice & Chat version at $167 after a 21-day trial; the listing doesn't state the billing unit.

Best for: teams already on Amazon Connect who want ticket context on screen when the phone rings, and who will test it before rollout, since its four ratings are split.

Second tier, 7 of 10

2. 3CX Click to Call: the most-rated dialer, untouched since 2018, 7/10

3CX's app adds a "Click to Call" dropdown to the contact details of a ticket and places the call through the 3CX Web Client. Setup is one field, the URL of your web client. It has 13 ratings averaging 4.62 and 503 installs, the most of any app here. The listing says it was published "about 8 years ago," in September 2018.

Scores: reviews 1, price 2, works in the ticket 2, setup 2, maintained 0.

3CX prices capacity, not seats. Its pricing page, in a Wayback copy from August 29, 2026, priced a Pro license for 16 simultaneous calls at about $620 (€560) a year, and its US-dollar estimator put a Pro system of that size, for up to 80 users, at $795 a year. Even at $795, that's far below 20 people on Ooma's Pro Plus plan at $29.95 a user, which costs $7,188 for the same year. Douglas Begg (5 stars, more than two years ago) wrote: "We have it set up for calling out. Simple set up." Its listing describes outbound dialing only, with no call logging or ticket creation.

Best for: 3CX customers who want one-click outbound calls and nothing else.

3. ZIWO: every interaction becomes a ticket, 7/10

ZIWO logs every call, SMS and chat handled in ZIWO as a Freshdesk ticket, according to its Freshdesk setup guide, which also says the ZIWO icon sits in the Freshdesk navigation bar. The guide asks for Freshdesk Pro or higher. It has 11 ratings averaging 3.45 and 66 installs, and was updated on May 5, 2026.

Scores: reviews 0, price 2, works in the ticket 1, setup 2, maintained 2.

ZIWO lists its Cloud Business Phone System at $40 per user a month with a 3-user minimum, and its Cloud Contact Center at $109. The listing itself has no installation tab; setup lives in ZIWO's docs. Kareem Mazhar (1 star, January 2025) wrote: "logs out all the time and affects our customer expreince".

Best for: teams in ZIWO's markets that want calls, SMS and chat in one ticket stream.

Third tier, 6 of 10: five apps

4. Voiso Contact Center for Freshdesk: five 5-star ratings, 6/10

Voiso's app embeds a softphone opened from the Freshdesk left navigation panel, creates a ticket with call notes for inbound and outbound calls, pops the contact record on inbound calls, and adds new callers as contacts. Setup starts in Voiso's CRM settings with your subdomain and API key. It has 5 ratings, all 5 stars, and 10 installs.

Voiso lists Core at $24 per user a month billed annually ($30 monthly), Pro at $52 and Unlimited at $149. The listing was updated on October 21, 2025, just past our 12-month line. Dennis Marbly (5 stars, more than three years ago) wrote: "Easy to setup with a seamless integration experience".

Best for: outbound-heavy teams that want a ticket for every call without agents creating one.

5. Ooma Office for Freshdesk: click-to-dial for small offices, 6/10

Dimensions Technologies built this app for Ooma Office. Agents dial from contact and ticket links, incoming calls match the caller ID to a customer record, and call details go on the ticket as notes. It works across Freshdesk tabs. It has 3 ratings averaging 2.33 and 12 installs, and was last published in August 2023.

Scores: reviews 0, price 2, works in the ticket 2, setup 2, maintained 0.

Ooma Office costs $19.95, $24.95 or $29.95 per user a month with no contract, and its plan page lists CRM integration under Pro Plus, so check which plan the Freshdesk app needs. Both written reviews give 1 star; François Trudeau wrote "Unable to log in" in March 2025.

Best for: small Ooma customers who mostly need to dial from a ticket.

6. Freshdesk for Zoom Phone: a third-party Zoom connector, 6/10

Arbaan GT's app connects Zoom Phone to Freshdesk with click-to-dial, inbound and outbound calls, on-screen caller information, mute, recordings and call notes. Setup signs in to Zoom, authorizes the app, then validates your Freshdesk domain and API key. It has 2 ratings averaging 3.00 and 72 installs, and was updated in May 2025.

Arbaan GT isn't Zoom, so support comes from Arbaan GT's own help desk. Zoom Phone costs $16, $20.50 or $24.50 per user a month billed annually ($18, $24 or $29 monthly), the lowest seat prices on this list.

Best for: companies already paying for Zoom Workplace that want calls on Freshdesk tickets.

7. JustCall: calls and texts from the ticket, 6/10

JustCall's app lets agents call and text customers from Freshdesk tickets, transfer or merge calls, and log notes and recordings as tickets. The JustCall icon sits on the Freshdesk sidebar on every page. It has 2 ratings averaging 1.50 and 63 installs, and was last published in February 2024.

JustCall lists Team at $29, Pro at $49 and Pro Plus at $89 per user a month, billed annually. Ticket logging needs a second setup step in JustCall's own help center, so plan for it.

Best for: teams that answer by SMS as often as by phone.

8. RingCentral RingCX for Freshworks: the newer RingCX listing, 6/10

RingCentral's RingCX for Freshworks covers Freshdesk and Freshservice. It handles inbound and outbound voice and live chat, supports click-to-call and Preview, Predictive and Progressive dialing, creates or updates tickets after a contact, and adds AI-generated summaries. It has no ratings yet and 10 installs, and was updated on April 9, 2026.

RingCentral's launch post prices RingCX "starting at $65 per agent per month," on annual prepayment, so it scores 1 on price. If you're on the older RingCX for Freshdesk listing (#12), this is the listing RingCentral updated more recently.

Best for: outbound contact centers that need predictive dialing next to Freshdesk.

Fourth tier, 5 of 10

9. 8x8 for Freshdesk: 12 ratings, most of them unhappy, 5/10

8x8's app connects 8x8 Contact Center and Work to Freshdesk with screen pops, click-to-call on phone numbers, and logging that links call duration, recordings and SMS transcripts to the record. Setup follows 8x8's admin guide. It has 12 ratings averaging 2.75 and 137 installs, and was updated in February 2026.

8x8's pricing page offers only "Request a Quote." The reviews describe ticket problems. Sophie Wright (2 stars, January 2024) wrote: "Keeps presenting calls while on a call. Often doesn't create tickets." Mike WA9PIE (1 star, more than three years ago) wrote: "All these new tickets show up as the 8x8 voicemail service." The February 2026 update may have fixed some of this, so test voicemail tickets in a trial.

Best for: existing 8x8 customers; nobody should pick 8x8 for this app.

10. Ringover Dialer for FreshDesk: logging with tag sync, 5/10

Ringover's integrated dialer logs calls and SMS as Freshdesk tickets and syncs contacts, notes and tags from Ringover to Freshdesk. Setup is a Ringover login. It has 1 rating and 68 installs, and was last published in May 2023.

Ringover lists Talk at $19, Business at $49 and Unified at $69 per user a month on a 12-month commitment with a 3-user minimum ($29, $69 and $89 without one). Tag sync matters if your Freshdesk automations key off tags.

Best for: teams whose Freshdesk rules run on tags set during the call.

What a phone app changes for an AI agent on the same tickets

Macha connects to Freshdesk with your subdomain and API key and works the same tickets these apps create. When a team with a phone app connects, we check four things before an agent goes live.

First, what a call ticket looks like. Most apps here open a ticket per call or voicemail, and the subject, requester and body vary by app. Mike WA9PIE's 8x8 review describes voicemail tickets that all show the voicemail service as the requester. An agent that replies by email to that ticket is writing to a phone system, so we read the call tickets in the past-ticket history and exclude them by source, tag or requester.

Second, notes added after creation. Apps that log call notes or recordings update the ticket, and an update can fire the agent's trigger again. We use the tag-and-exclude pattern: the trigger adds a tag when it fires and excludes that tag from its own conditions.

Third, API load. Apps that write every call to Freshdesk use the same account-wide API rate limit as the agent, so we watch high-volume triggers for warnings.

Then we replay past tickets in a simulation and confirm whether replies post as internal notes or public before anything runs on its own.

Where AI fits

Phone apps get the call onto a ticket. An AI agent can then work the follow-up that the call creates, such as the order lookup or the refund the caller asked about, while email and chat tickets keep moving.

Macha runs AI agents inside the Freshdesk account you already have, set up and monitored by the Macha team. It fits teams already running Freshdesk who want agents acting inside the ticket on routine requests, with calls still answered by people. Pricing starts at $299/month for 750 tickets, with a trial of $50 of free usage (about 125 tickets), no credit card, no time limit.

Which one fits your situation?

  • You run Amazon Connect: Sandeza's app, or Freshworks' own Amazon Connect extension if you'd rather Freshworks support the connector.
  • You only need outbound click-to-dial: 3CX Click to Call for 3CX customers; Ooma Office for small Ooma offices.
  • Every call, SMS and chat should become a ticket: ZIWO, or Ringover if tag sync matters.
  • You text customers as often as you call: JustCall.
  • You run an outbound contact center: RingCX for Freshworks, for its predictive dialing.
  • You have no phone system yet: start with Freshcaller and compare it with Zoom Phone or Ooma before you add an app; our Marketplace explainer covers how installs work.

FAQs

What are the best Freshdesk telephony apps?

On our rubric, Sandeza's Amazon Connect app scores highest at 8 of 10, on 4 ratings averaging 3.0. 3CX Click to Call and ZIWO share the next tier on 7, and Voiso, Ooma Office, Freshdesk for Zoom Phone, JustCall and RingCX for Freshworks follow on 6.

Are Freshdesk phone apps free?

Every listing we ranked is free to install, but each needs an account with the phone vendor. Seat prices on the vendors' own pages run from $16 per user a month for Zoom Phone to $149 for Voiso's Unlimited plan.

Does Freshdesk have its own phone system?

Yes. Freshcaller, also called Freshdesk Contact Center, lists plans at $0, $15, $39 and $69 per agent a month plus per-minute charges, billed annually. Freshworks also builds Telephony Partner Extensions for Aircall, Amazon Connect, Genesys, Five9 and RingCentral.

<div class="docs-callout"><div><p class="docs-callout-title">Are you listed here?</p><p class="docs-callout-body">Partners and app makers can send corrections with a public source to [email protected]. We fix facts within a week. Scores follow the rubric above, not requests.</p></div></div>

How we researched this

On October 30, 2026 we queried the Freshworks Marketplace catalog for Freshdesk, 767 apps, for the Chat, Video & Telephony category: 153 apps, 83 of them with no ratings and 17 with 10 or more. Its Voice & Call subcategory holds 88 apps, 46 with no ratings.

We checked every candidate listing through the Marketplace's public app data and a rendered browser copy, and took review quotes from each listing's Ratings and Review tab. Every listing is free, so prices come from each phone vendor's own pricing page, read the same day; 3CX's and Freshcaller's came from Wayback Machine copies of August 29 and October 10, 2026. Prices are shown in US dollars. We didn't install or test any app or contact any vendor, and scores come from public pages only.

Disclosure: Macha makes AI agents that run inside help desks. Nobody paid to be listed, and Macha is not ranked here.
