HubSpot's customer agent, the Breeze agent for support, charges 50 HubSpot Credits (about $0.50) per resolved conversation and only runs on Professional or Enterprise editions, according to HubSpot's pricing page and knowledge base. The alternatives split two ways. You can keep HubSpot Service Hub and put a different AI agent on top of it (Intercom Fin, eesel AI, Macha or Quickchat AI), or you can move to a help desk that ships its own agent (Zendesk, Freshdesk, Gorgias or Front). This guide prices all eight at the same volume and says who each one fits.

Key takeaways

  • The best HubSpot Breeze alternatives are Intercom Fin, eesel AI, Macha and Quickchat AI inside HubSpot Service Hub, or Zendesk, Freshdesk, Gorgias and Front if you switch help desks.
  • HubSpot's customer agent costs 50 HubSpot Credits per resolved conversation, needs a Professional or Enterprise edition, and only goes live after a chat, WhatsApp or Facebook channel is connected.
  • At 1,500 conversations a month with half resolved by AI, the customer agent costs about $765 a month including five Service Hub Professional seats, plus $1,500 one-time onboarding.
  • eesel AI's pricing page on October 5, 2026 sells monthly batches from $299 for 500 credits, where one ticket or chat is one credit however many replies it takes.
  • Macha bills about $0.40 per ticket, from $299/month for 750 tickets, and on HubSpot it can update tickets, add notes and post public replies on tickets.

If you only need the HubSpot agent's own numbers, our complete guide to HubSpot's customer agent covers setup, credits and limits in detail. This page is about what to use instead.

"Breeze" is HubSpot's name for all of its AI, including prospecting and content agents for sales and marketing teams. This guide covers the support side only: the customer agent that answers in Service Hub.

Why do teams look for a HubSpot Breeze alternative?

HubSpot's customer agent is the right answer for a lot of HubSpot teams. It lives in the same inbox your reps already use, it reads your knowledge base and CRM records without an integration project, it answers on live chat, WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger, and since HubSpot's April 2026 pricing change you only pay when it resolves something. If your support is mostly real-time chat and messaging inside HubSpot's conversations inbox, it's the natural fit and nothing below beats it on convenience.

Teams look elsewhere for four reasons.

The plan gate. HubSpot's knowledge base lists the customer agent on Professional and Enterprise editions only. Service Hub Professional is $90 a seat a month on annual billing plus a required $1,500 onboarding fee. A five-person team moving from Starter to Professional would go from $100 to $500 a month in seats on monthly billing ($450 on annual Professional) before the agent resolves anything. That's the incentive behind the gate: the agent is a reason to upgrade, and HubSpot earns the seat revenue whether or not you use many credits.

The channel requirement. To publish a customer agent you need at least one Facebook, WhatsApp or live chat channel connected to the inbox or help desk workspace, per the same article. Teams whose support is mostly email tickets can still use it, but the product is shaped around conversations.

The way resolutions are counted. HubSpot counts a conversation as resolved if the agent shared a content source or performed an action and there's no visitor-initiated handoff within 72 hours. Manual assignment to a rep, including through workflows, doesn't stop the conversation counting as resolved. And on email, a customer reply after 72 hours reopens the thread and can bill another resolution.

The work it doesn't do. The customer agent answers questions and performs configured actions. Teams that want an agent to triage every ticket, update properties, move pipeline stages and pull data from Shopify, Stripe or an internal system usually end up looking at a third-party agent working the ticket queue behind or instead of it.

How did we choose these alternatives?

We started from HubSpot's customer agent and asked which tools a Service Hub team would realistically shortlist in October 2026. A tool made the list if it either documents a HubSpot integration that reads and writes tickets, or is a help desk with its own AI agent that a HubSpot team commonly moves to (the ones in our HubSpot Service Hub alternatives roundup). Enterprise-only builds like Sierra and Decagon are left out because they're quote-only and aim at much larger teams; we cover those in the best Sierra AI alternatives.

For each tool we recorded the billing unit, the cheapest public way in, what it can do on HubSpot (from the vendor's own HubSpot page), and one watch-out. We didn't run any of the competitors on a live HubSpot account; everything about them comes from their public pages, screenshotted on October 5, 2026.

Disclosure: we make Macha, which is number 3 on this list. It's placed by type, between the other agents that plug into HubSpot, not ranked first.

Which AI agents work inside HubSpot Service Hub?

These four keep HubSpot as your system of record. Your reps, tickets, workflows and reports stay where they are; the agent connects over HubSpot's API.

1. Intercom Fin for HubSpot

Fin is Intercom's AI agent, and Intercom sells it as a standalone agent for HubSpot. Fin connects over OAuth, syncs your HubSpot knowledge base and customer data, and works on two channels: inbound HubSpot email tickets, and Fin Messenger, Intercom's own chat widget, which hands off to your team in HubSpot with the transcript or a new ticket. Intercom says Fin writes back transcripts, summaries and field updates to HubSpot (fin.ai).

Intercom's Fin for HubSpot page showing HubSpot Tickets and Fin Messenger channels and the $0.99 per outcome price with minimum commitments
Intercom's Fin for HubSpot page showing HubSpot Tickets and Fin Messenger channels and the $0.99 per outcome price with minimum commitments
  • Billing unit: per outcome, $0.99. An outcome is a resolution or a Procedure that runs to completion, handoffs included (fin.ai/pricing).
  • Entry price: "minimum commitments apply" on the HubSpot page; Intercom's pricing page gives 50 outcomes a month as the example minimum on help desks other than Intercom.
  • Who it fits: HubSpot teams that want the most mature off-the-shelf agent and are happy to put Intercom's Messenger on their site instead of HubSpot's chat widget.
  • Watch-out: you'll be running a second chat widget and a second vendor. And because a completed Procedure counts as an outcome even when it ends in a handoff, $0.99 isn't strictly a price per resolved customer. Intercom's 76% average resolution rate is its own figure. Salesforce completed its acquisition of Fin on September 10, 2026; the price hasn't changed since.

If you'd rather go all in, Intercom's own help desk runs Fin without the 50-outcome minimum at $29 a seat a month on Essential billed annually (Intercom has also shown $19 in a pricing test). That's a help desk switch, though, with the migration that implies. Our Fin explainer and Fin vs Breeze pricing comparison go deeper.

2. eesel AI

eesel connects to HubSpot through OAuth and, according to its HubSpot page, "reads HubSpot tickets, drafts and sends replies, adds internal notes, updates ticket properties, moves tickets through pipelines, and uses live CRM contact data in every reply." It imports past tickets, knowledge base articles and snippets, and you can run it against past HubSpot tickets in a simulation before it touches live ones. eesel's own page names Breeze as the incumbent it's selling against.

eesel changed its pricing in the last two weeks. When we checked on September 24, 2026, its page showed $0.40 per task, pay-as-you-go. On October 5 it showed monthly credit batches instead.

eesel AI pricing page on October 5, 2026: free trial with 100 credits, Teammate plan from $299 a month for 500 credits, and custom Enterprise
eesel AI pricing page on October 5, 2026: free trial with 100 credits, Teammate plan from $299 a month for 500 credits, and custom Enterprise
  • Billing unit: one credit per ticket or chat, "however long" (eesel.ai/pricing).
  • Entry price: $299 a month for 500 credits; batches run up to $1,899 for 5,000. Free trial of 100 credits, no card.
  • Who it fits: HubSpot teams that want a self-serve agent working the ticket queue, starting in draft mode and switching to autonomous replies on easy tickets.
  • Watch-out: a credit is spent on every ticket the agent works, resolved or not, so at 500 credits the effective rate is about $0.60 a ticket. The batch sizes are fixed, so a team at 1,600 tickets buys the 2,500 batch.

3. Macha

Macha is an AI agent layer that runs on top of Zendesk, Freshdesk, Gorgias, Front, HubSpot or Intercom. On HubSpot it uses a built-in connector authorized over OAuth, which gives an agent 11 tools listed on the HubSpot integration page: Search Contacts, Get Contact, Update Contact, Search Deals, Get Deal, Update Deal Stage, Search Tickets, Get Ticket, Update Ticket, Add Note and List Pipelines. It can also post a public reply on a ticket; that capability is confirmed by our team but isn't on the integration page's list yet. Agents can fire on three HubSpot triggers: New Ticket Created, Ticket Updated (with a property filter so the agent doesn't re-trigger itself) and New Contact Created.

Macha's HubSpot integration page listing actions such as Update Ticket, Add Note and List Pipelines, and the New Ticket Created, Ticket Updated and New Contact Created triggers
  • Billing unit: per ticket, one thread between Macha and one person, charged once no matter how many messages it takes.
  • Entry price: $299/month for 750 tickets, about $0.40 per ticket. The tiers are $299 a month for 750 tickets, $599 for 1,500, $1,199 for 3,000, $1,999 for 5,000, $2,999 for 7,500 and $3,999 for 10,000, with custom pricing above that. Trial: $50 of free usage (about 125 tickets), no credit card, no time limit.
  • Who it fits: HubSpot teams who want the agent working every ticket (triage, property updates, pipeline moves, a reply or a drafted note for the rep) and reaching other systems in the same run, through built-in connectors like Shopify and Stripe or a custom API tool that Macha's team sets up during onboarding. Setup and monitoring by the Macha team are included in the price.
  • Where it falls short: Macha works the ticket, not HubSpot's live chat widget. If your volume is real-time chat, WhatsApp or Messenger inside HubSpot's conversations inbox, the customer agent is the better fit there, and the two can run side by side.

4. Quickchat AI

Quickchat is a chat agent builder that markets itself directly as a HubSpot Breeze alternative. Its comparison page says it connects to your Service Hub data and knowledge base, embeds inside HubSpot inbox flows across email, live chat and WhatsApp, and hands off to humans while leaving "tickets, automations, and reporting unchanged" (quickchat.ai).

Quickchat AI pricing page showing Professional at $299 a month with 9,000 AI credits, Business at $999 with 30,000, and Enterprise from $0.50 per resolution
  • Billing unit: AI credits per AI message on self-serve plans: 1 credit for the lighter models, 2 for GPT-5.4 and 4 for the largest, per its pricing page. Enterprise is per resolution.
  • Entry price: plans start at $9 a month, but the business tiers are Professional at $299 (9,000 credits, 3 users) and Business at $999 (30,000 credits). Enterprise starts from $0.50 per resolution with a 2,000-resolution monthly floor.
  • Who it fits: teams whose problem is website chat and who want to pick the model and control the cost per message.
  • Watch-out: its Breeze comparison still prices HubSpot at 100 credits (about $1.00) per conversation. HubSpot moved to 50 credits per resolved conversation on April 14, 2026, so the "68 to 75% lower" cost claim on that page is measured against a retired price.

Should you switch help desks instead?

If HubSpot isn't working as your help desk, the AI question comes second. If you're on HubSpot mainly as a CRM and your support team is fighting the ticketing, the HubSpot Service Hub alternatives are worth weighing first. HubSpot Service Hub holds 4.4 out of 5 from 193 reviews on Capterra, and the critical reviews tend to be about ticketing depth rather than the CRM. One VP of Customer Success, Bo L., put it as "poor UX for support ticketing, lacking in core functionality, behind the curve on AI" (Capterra, November 2024). These four help desks each come with an agent.

5. Zendesk AI agents

Zendesk's AI agents are included on its Suite plans and billed per automated resolution: $1.50 on a committed volume or $2.00 pay-as-you-go, with 5 included resolutions per agent a month on Suite Team (Zendesk's pricing page, "Compare all plan features"). Since May 18, 2026 only Verified Resolutions bill; assisted escalations don't (Zendesk help center).

  • Who it fits: support teams that have outgrown HubSpot's ticketing and want the deepest help desk with a native agent.
  • Watch-out: Suite Team is $55 per agent a month annual, and you're migrating tickets, macros and reporting. Per-resolution pricing at $1.50 is three times HubSpot's rate.

6. Freshdesk Freddy AI Agent

Freddy AI Agent comes with 500 sessions, a one-time allowance per account, then $49 per 100 sessions. A session is one interaction with an end user, counted in a 24-hour window (Freshworks session FAQ). Freshdesk Growth is $19 per agent a month on annual billing.

  • Who it fits: price-sensitive teams that want a cheap help desk seat and a simple agent bundled in.
  • Watch-out: sessions bill whether or not Freddy resolves anything, and unused sessions expire with the billing cycle.

7. Gorgias AI Agent

Gorgias's pricing page now leads with "AI Agent on every plan, pay only when it resolves a conversation." The AI Agent is sold as a monthly bundle per plan (190 automated interactions for $190 on Pro), then $1.50 per interaction past the bundle. An automated interaction is a ticket resolved with no human involvement within 72 hours (Gorgias docs).

  • Who it fits: Shopify stores that run support on HubSpot only because marketing was there first.
  • Watch-out: an AI-resolved ticket also counts as a helpdesk ticket on your plan, so it's billed twice. For B2B or SaaS support, Gorgias is the wrong shape.

8. Front Autopilot

Front is a shared-inbox help desk, and Autopilot is its omnichannel AI agent, sold as an add-on on every plan.

Front's pricing page showing Autopilot starting at $0.05 per conversation, with Copilot and Smart QA at $20 per seat and Smart CSAT at $10 per seat
Front's pricing page showing Autopilot starting at $0.05 per conversation, with Copilot and Smart QA at $20 per seat and Smart CSAT at $10 per seat
  • Billing unit: per conversation, "starting at $0.05", through sales (front.com/pricing).
  • Who it fits: B2B teams that work support from email and want the shared inbox more than a ticketing system. Front Professional is $65 a seat a month on annual billing.
  • Watch-out: Front doesn't publish what counts as a billable conversation or the rate at volume, so treat the $0.05 as a floor.

What does each option cost at 1,500 conversations a month?

To put the billing units side by side, assume a team of five reps, 1,500 support conversations a month, and an AI agent that fully resolves half of them (750). The resolution rate is an assumption, not a measured figure; real rates vary widely by ticket mix.

OptionWhat you pay forMonthly cost
HubSpot customer agent5 Professional seats ($450) + 35 credit packs ($315)About $765, plus $1,500 once
1. Intercom Fin for HubSpot750 outcomes at $0.99About $743 + your HubSpot seats
2. eesel AI1,500-credit batch$699 + your HubSpot seats
3. Macha1,500-ticket tier$599 + your HubSpot seats
4. Quickchat AIProfessional (9,000 credits) or Business$299 to $999 + your HubSpot seats
5. Zendesk AI agents5 Suite Team seats ($275) + 725 resolutions at $1.50About $1,363
6. Freshdesk Freddy AI Agent5 Growth seats ($95) + 15 packs of 100 sessions ($735)About $830 after the free 500
7. Gorgias AI AgentPro plan ($360) + bundle ($190) + 560 interactions at $1.50 ($840)About $1,390
8. Front Autopilot5 Professional seats ($325) + 1,500 conversations at $0.05 or moreFrom about $400

Three things change the ranking.

The seat line. Options 1 to 4 run on the HubSpot plan you already pay for, and none of them needs Professional for its own sake. A five-person team on Starter keeps paying Starter. HubSpot's own agent forces the Professional upgrade, which is why its row includes seats.

What's billed. HubSpot, Fin, Zendesk and Gorgias bill when the AI resolves something. eesel, Macha and Freshdesk bill for every ticket or session the agent works. Per-resolution pricing looks cheaper when the agent mostly answers questions; per-ticket pricing pays for work that never counts as a resolution, like tagging, routing and lookups for a rep. A per-resolution vendor earns more the more conversations it can classify as resolved, which is why each one defines "resolved" carefully, and differently.

Volume steps. Batch and tier pricing jumps. At 2,000 conversations Macha's tier becomes $1,199 for 3,000 tickets and eesel's becomes $999 for 2,500 credits, while the per-resolution options rise smoothly. We compare the general shape of these models in help desk AI vs a standalone AI agent.

Which HubSpot Breeze alternative should you pick?

  • Your support is live chat, WhatsApp or Messenger in HubSpot's inbox, and you're already on Professional: keep the customer agent. Nothing here is more convenient for that job.
  • You're on Starter and want AI without the Professional upgrade: a third-party agent (1 to 4) costs less than the seat jump alone.
  • You want a mature, self-serve agent and don't mind a second chat widget: Intercom Fin.
  • You want a self-serve agent working email tickets, priced per ticket: eesel AI.
  • You want the agent to work every ticket and reach Shopify, Stripe or your own systems, set up for you: Macha.
  • Your problem is website chat and you want to choose the model: Quickchat AI.
  • HubSpot's ticketing is the real problem: switch to Zendesk, Freshdesk, Front or, for Shopify stores, Gorgias, and take the agent that comes with it.

Where Macha fits

Macha fits HubSpot teams that want an agent acting on tickets rather than another chat widget. The built-in HubSpot connector reads tickets, contacts and deals, updates ticket status, owner, priority and custom properties, moves tickets through pipelines with List Pipelines, adds notes, and posts public replies on tickets, triggered by New Ticket Created or a filtered Ticket Updated event. At the 1,500 conversations in the example above, that's the 1,500-ticket tier, and the full range is $299 a month for 750 tickets, $599 for 1,500, $1,199 for 3,000, $1,999 for 5,000, $2,999 for 7,500 and $3,999 for 10,000, with custom pricing above that. Setup and monitoring by the Macha team are included, and you can try it on your own HubSpot tickets with $50 of free usage (about 125 tickets), no credit card, no time limit.

Frequently asked questions

What is the HubSpot Breeze customer agent? It's HubSpot's AI agent for support, part of the Breeze AI suite. It answers customers on live chat, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and email using your knowledge base and CRM data, performs configured actions, and hands off to reps. It needs a Professional or Enterprise edition and costs 50 HubSpot Credits per resolved conversation.

Can I use a different AI agent with HubSpot Service Hub? Yes. Intercom Fin, eesel AI, Macha and Quickchat AI all connect to HubSpot over its API and leave tickets, contacts and reports in HubSpot. What differs is what each one writes back: Fin writes transcripts, summaries and field updates; eesel and Macha update ticket properties, move pipeline stages, add notes and reply on tickets.

Do I need Service Hub Professional to use an AI agent on HubSpot? Only for HubSpot's own customer agent, which isn't available on Free or Starter. Third-party agents are billed by their own vendors and connect through HubSpot's API, so the seat tier you need is whatever your human team needs.

Is there a cheaper alternative to the HubSpot customer agent? It depends on volume and whether you already pay for Professional seats. At 1,500 conversations a month with half resolved, HubSpot costs about $765 including five Professional seats, while third-party agents run from $299 (Quickchat Professional, which covers models up to GPT-5.4 at three messages per conversation) to about $743 (Fin) on top of whatever HubSpot plan you keep.

Does HubSpot charge again if a customer replies later? On email, yes, it can. HubSpot evaluates a resolution 72 hours after the last visitor response, and a customer reply after that window reopens the conversation. If the agent resolves it again, another 50 credits are used.

Which HubSpot Breeze alternative is best for ecommerce? For a Shopify store, Gorgias's help desk and AI Agent are built around order data. If you want to stay on HubSpot, an agent that can read orders matters more than the chat widget; Macha has a built-in Shopify connector, and Intercom says Fin uses live data from third-party systems.

How we researched this

We checked each vendor's pricing and HubSpot pages on October 5, 2026 in a fresh headless Chrome session set to a US locale, and captured the sections shown above: HubSpot's "Understand the customer agent" knowledge base article (last updated September 16, 2026), fin.ai's HubSpot page, eesel.ai/pricing and eesel's HubSpot page, quickchat.ai/pricing and Quickchat's Breeze-alternative page, front.com/pricing, and Macha's HubSpot integration page. Capterra's HubSpot Service Hub rating (4.4 out of 5, 193 reviews) was read the same day.

Freshdesk's pricing page served Indian rupees and Gorgias's page rendered no prices from our location on October 5, so their figures come from our September 24 to 25 readings of the same pages. HubSpot's plan and credit prices (Professional $90 a seat annual, $1,500 onboarding, 3,000 included credits, $9 per 1,000 extra credits annual), Zendesk's $1.50 and $2.00 rates and Intercom's seat prices come from the same September readings.

Vendor self-reports: Intercom's 76% average resolution rate, Quickchat's 74% vs 64% resolution comparison and its "68 to 75% lower" cost claim are the vendors' own figures and we didn't verify them. Macha's ability to post public replies on HubSpot tickets is confirmed by our team (September 28, 2026); the rest of its HubSpot tool list is from its integration page. We did not run any of these agents on a HubSpot account for this page; everything about the competitors is documented, not tested.

The worked example's arithmetic, at 1,500 conversations, 750 AI resolutions and five reps:

  • HubSpot: 750 × 50 = 37,500 credits; minus 3,000 included = 34,500, bought as 35 packs of 1,000 × $9 = $315; plus 5 × $90 = $450; total $765.
  • Fin: 750 × $0.99 = $742.50.
  • eesel: 1,500 credits is the $699 batch. Macha: 1,500 tickets is the $599 tier.
  • Quickchat: 1,500 conversations × 3 AI messages × 2 credits (GPT-5.4) = 9,000 credits, the Professional allowance at $299; on the 4-credit models it's 18,000 credits, which needs Business at $999. Three AI messages per conversation is our assumption.
  • Zendesk: 5 × $55 = $275; 5 agents × 5 included = 25 resolutions, so 725 × $1.50 = $1,087.50; total $1,362.50.
  • Freshdesk: 5 × $19 = $95; 1,500 sessions = 15 packs × $49 = $735; total $830.
  • Gorgias: Pro $360 covers 2,000 tickets; bundle of 190 interactions $190; 560 × $1.50 = $840; total $1,390.
  • Front: 5 × $65 = $325; 1,500 × $0.05 = $75; total $400 as a floor.

The 50% resolution rate is an assumption for comparison only. All examples are synthetic; no customer data was used.

If HubSpot is staying and you want an agent that works the tickets behind your chat, start a Macha trial and point it at your HubSpot queue.
