Who Can Set Up Front AI? Front Implementation Partners in 2026
Front has no public directory of implementation partners: front.com/partners returned a 404 on October 14, 2026, and in August 2026 Front's own developer relations team wrote that it doesn't "have a reliable network of implementation partners yet." So the honest answer to "who can implement Front and its AI for us" is short. Front's Success Services team sells onboarding from $10,000 for 25 hours, with no AI item in its published scope. Two agencies, Smart Instinct and Ridgeline, publicly sell Front implementation including AI setup. Freelancers exist but are hard to find. And vendors such as Fini and Macha set up their own agent on Front, with setup in the price.
Key takeaways
- Front had no public partner directory on October 14, 2026, and its developer relations team wrote on August 20, 2026 that Front doesn't have a reliable network of implementation partners yet.
- Front Success Services lists Professional Onboarding at $10,000 for 25 hours and Enterprise Onboarding at $23,000 for 60 hours, and its published package scope includes no AI item.
- Smart Instinct publishes Front builds at $3,750, $10,500 and $17,500 over 2 to 6 weeks, with retainers from $1,000 a month afterward.
- Ridgeline says it tunes Autopilot scope and connects external AI agents on Front, quotes 4 to 8 weeks for projects that include AI, and scopes its price per engagement.
- Macha, our product, sets up its own agent on Front with a promise of live in safe mode within 7 days or the first month free, at about $0.40 per ticket including a dedicated success manager.
Disclosure: Macha publishes this blog and sells an AI agent that runs on Front. Macha isn't a Front partner and isn't scored below; it appears in the vendor section, labeled as ours. Every provider is named from its own site or a Front-owned page, read on October 14, 2026. We didn't contact, hire or test any of them, and no one paid for placement. This page covers who does the work; for the phases, days and test plan of a Front AI project itself, see our Front AI implementation guide.
How we chose and scored them
We searched for firms that sell Front setup on their own sites: web searches for Front implementation, consultants and Autopilot setup, every Front Community thread we found where a customer asked for a consultant, Front's partner and integration pages, the UK government's G-Cloud 15 catalog (zero results for Front), and freelance marketplaces. Only three providers describe paid Front implementation on a page you can read today. We didn't pad the list to five.
Each provider gets 0, 1 or 2 points on five criteria, for 10 in total.
| Criterion | 2 points | 1 point | 0 points |
|---|---|---|---|
| Front AI work described | Names Autopilot, Copilot or external agents and what it configures | AI mentioned in general terms | No AI work listed |
| Price published | A price on the page | Scoped on a call | |
| Timeline published | Weeks per project size | None | |
| Help after launch | Priced ongoing help | Ongoing help offered, unpriced | Not described |
| Front recognition | It is Front | Partner status claimed on its own site | No claim |
The scores reward what you can check before a sales call. They don't measure the quality of anyone's work, which only references and a pilot will tell you.
The providers at a glance
| # | Provider | Type | Front AI work described | Price | Timeline | After launch | Score |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Smart Instinct | Multi-desk agency, Florida | "AI that takes actions" from the $10,500 tier | $750 audit; $3,750 to $17,500 builds | 2 to 6 weeks | Retainers from $1,000/month | 7 |
| 2 | Ridgeline Agency | Multi-desk agency, Texas | Autopilot scope, external agents, Compass, Smart QA | Not published | 2 to 4 weeks; 4 to 8 with AI | Retainer, unpriced | 6 |
| 3 | Front Success Services | Front's own team | None in the package list | $10,000 / $23,000; $3,000 per 8 hours | Not published | 8-hour packs at $3,000 | 6 |
Ridgeline ranks ahead of Front's team on the tie because its page describes Front AI work and Front's doesn't. Every figure above was checked on October 14, 2026; "not published" means we found no figure on the pages we read.
Why doesn't Front have a partner directory?
Because Front's partner programs are built for selling Front and building on it, not for implementing it. The channel program pays commissions to firms that refer or resell Front, much of it through technology services distributors. The integration program, per Front's developer docs, lets companies publish apps in Front's App Store. Front Academy also runs a partner learning path for people becoming "Front Certified Partners to distribute and sell Front", which ends in a "Partner Demo Certification". It includes an Autopilot course, but it certifies selling and demoing, not delivery.
Front's community threads show the gap from the buyer's side:
- March 2024: Front's developer relations team said "Our Scale plan and above includes implementation services" but that Front doesn't "have an official partner directory at this time."
- June 2024: "Front doesn't specifically endorse or recommend consultants." Front offered weekly office hours instead, and warned that teams who hand setup to an outside consultant are "often times lost once the consultant leaves."
- June 2025: a new customer wrote that they'd "checked Upwork and Fiverr" and found nobody listing Front. A month later Front said it had "recently launched consulting services as part of our Professional Services offering" ([email protected]).
- November 6, 2025: asked for a Front consultant, Front pointed to its Professional Services for "hands-on help with setup, migrations, workflow design, and optimization" (thread).
- November 2025: a small business reported that Front's professional services quote "was a 10K USD service", out of its reach. Front's reply: "We have partner integrators we work with for specific industries but don't have a recommendation for general freelance consultants."
- August 20, 2026: "our paid services are sometimes bigger packages than what you might be looking for, but we don't have a reliable network of implementation partners yet."
Compare Zendesk, where our Zendesk partner ranking could start from a filterable directory, or Intercom, which also lacks one, as our Intercom partner list found.
Who sells Front implementation, and what do they do with Front AI?
1. Smart Instinct: fixed prices on the page, 7/10
Smart Instinct's Front page calls the firm "a helpdesk implementation and AI agent setup agency" and opens with prices. Its Front scope is structural: shared inbox ownership, a consolidated rules engine "with the dead rules retired", a tag taxonomy reporting can group by, handoff and escalation workflows, integrations, analytics and canned-response cleanup. The prices are the same on every platform it supports:
- Audit, $750 flat, one to two weeks, credited toward a project booked within 30 days.
- Essential build, $3,750: one integration, one brand, two to four weeks.
- Professional build, $10,500: up to 5 integrations, 2 brands, "AI that takes actions", three to five weeks.
- Premium build, $17,500: up to 2 platforms, 3 brands, 8 integrations, four to six weeks.
Builds include up to 33, 90 or 150 hours, valid for 90 days. Retainers start at $1,000 a month. Its AI automation page applies one method across 23+ platforms and refuses to quote a deflection rate: "Anyone who quotes you one without seeing your data is bluffing." The Front page doesn't name Autopilot, so ask which Front AI pieces the Professional tier covers. Its "Not a fit if" list includes "You need a full ticketing model with SLAs at the object level", which matters on Front, where its FAQ says time goal rules run through rules and tags rather than per-ticket SLA policies. And two lines show who it's built for: it's best for teams where "Someone internal will own the configuration afterward", and "Who owns the configuration when you leave? You do, documented."
Scores: 1, 2, 2, 2, 0.
Best for: teams that want a fixed Front rebuild price before the first call and have an admin who'll run it afterward.
2. Ridgeline Agency: the most specific Front AI scope, 6/10
Ridgeline's Front page sells "Implementation, migration from Gmail or Outlook, rules architecture, integrations, and Front AI setup." It's the only third-party page we found that describes Front's current AI in detail. Its answer to "Do you configure Front's AI features?" is yes: it structures knowledge "for retrieval", sets handoff and escalation rules, will "tune Autopilot scope, connect External AI agents and monitor them in Compass", and sets up Smart QA scorecards and Smart CSAT. It quotes timelines: "A straightforward shared-inbox deployment typically takes 2 to 4 weeks", and projects with migrations, integrations and AI "usually run 4 to 8 weeks." Price: "scoped per engagement during discovery." After launch it offers retainers covering "AI resolution rate optimization", rule tuning and quarterly reviews, at an unpublished price.
The site says "Ridgeline is a Front Implementation Partner." With no Front directory, we couldn't confirm that on any Front page, so treat it as a claim to check with your Front account manager. Ridgeline is based in Texas and also sells Gorgias, Zendesk and Intercom work.
Scores: 2, 0, 2, 1, 1.
Best for: email-heavy teams moving off a shared Gmail or Outlook mailbox who want Autopilot or an external agent configured in the same project.
3. Front Success Services: Front's own team, 6/10
Front's Success Services sheet, linked from its pricing page, lists three packages:
| Package | Hours | List price | Who it's for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Professional Onboarding (Accelerate) | 25 | $10,000 | Professional and Enterprise; required above $25K ARR |
| Enterprise Onboarding (Transform) | 60 | $23,000 | Professional and Enterprise; required above $75K ARR |
| Success Services (Adapt) | 8 per pack | $3,000 | Existing Professional and Enterprise customers |
Custom integrations are "priced on scope." The scope reads like change management: a dedicated project manager, workflow consultation, best-practice guidance, end-user training, and integration and architecture design on Enterprise. There's no AI line, though nothing stops you asking for Autopilot work inside the hours. The sheet claims 1,200+ projects, and quotes Uber Freight launching "to our first 250 users in just three weeks." The hours work out to $400 an hour on Accelerate, about $383 on Transform and $375 on Adapt.
Scores: 0, 2, 0, 2, 2.
Best for: larger teams new to Front, or contracts where Front requires onboarding anyway.
Freelancers
Front freelancers exist, but marketplaces don't make them easy to find. A Freelancer.com project posted about five months before we checked, around May 2026, to optimize a Front shared inbox offered a fixed $10 to $30 budget and drew 63 proposals averaging $26. Ask bidders for a Front workspace they built, because several opened with general web or automation experience. Contra has a Front freelancers page with no rates shown. In the Front Community, a buyer found a freelancer through Front's own support chat after passing on the $10,000 services quote. For rates and a job post you can reuse, see who can set up AI customer support. Ask any freelancer for a Front workspace they've configured since Front's October 2026 AI agent changes.
Migration tools
ClonePartner and Help Desk Migration both run migrations into Front, and Help Desk Migration is listed as a Front integration. They move history, contacts and tags; they don't configure rules or AI. Our Front migration checklist covers that job.
Vendors that set up their own agent on Front
A different route skips Front's AI setup altogether: a vendor connects its own agent to your Front and does the setup as part of the subscription. These aren't Front implementation partners. They don't configure Front, resell it or migrate you.
Fini. Front's help center has a Fini integration article that says "Fini developed and maintains this integration" and that it trains on your Front conversation history. Fini's pricing page lists Front among its help desks and lists "Implementation Included" on its Growth plan and a "90-day free pilot" on Enterprise, and says "Fini goes live in 14 days and is fully autonomous in 30." The visible cards show no plan fee; the page's structured data lists Growth at $3,600 a month, with $0.89 per resolution beyond the allowance. Our Fini pricing breakdown has the detail.
Macha (our product). On the done-for-you route, Macha's team analyzes about a month of your past Front conversations, builds the knowledge base and the agent for the first category, and runs it in safe mode, with drafts as internal comments in Front that customers never see until you approve them. The promise is "live in safe mode within 7 days, or your first month is free." Your part is about 15 minutes to connect Front and the systems answers come from, then about 5 minutes a day reviewing drafts. The Front connector uses a Front API token to read conversations, reply, comment, tag, update fields and assign. It costs about $0.40 per ticket, from $299/month for 750 tickets, and that includes setup and a dedicated success manager who handles new categories, instruction changes and new tools after launch. The trial is $50 of free usage (about 125 tickets), no credit card, no time limit, with the same setup. Macha suits teams already on Front, often email-heavy B2B or ecommerce teams, that want conversations worked end to end without anyone on staff maintaining the AI. See Macha on Front.
Front's own pricing page also lets you connect external agents built with Claude, Codex, Sierra and others, included on all plans.
What does each route cost in the first year?
Every route except a vendor's own agent sits on top of Front's meter. If you use Autopilot, Front bills each conversation once at the highest level reached: $0.05 for triage, $0.39 for a handoff and $0.89 for a resolution, per our Front AI implementation guide.
| Route | Setup | After launch | Who tunes the AI |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your admin with Autopilot | No fee | Autopilot usage | Your admin |
| Front Success Services | $10,000 or $23,000 | $3,000 per 8 hours | Your admin, or more hours |
| Smart Instinct | $750 audit; $3,750 to $17,500 | From $1,000 a month | Smart Instinct on retainer |
| Ridgeline | Scoped | Retainer, scoped | Ridgeline on retainer |
| Freelancer | Project price | Hourly | You |
| Fini | Included | Growth $3,600 a month (structured data) | Fini's team |
| Macha (ours) | Included | $299/month for 750 tickets | Macha's team and your success manager |
A Smart Instinct Professional build plus a year of its entry retainer comes to $10,500 + 12 × $1,000 = $22,500, before Autopilot usage. Front's Professional Onboarding plus two Adapt packs comes to $10,000 + 2 × $3,000 = $16,000 for 41 hours. Look at what each provider is paid for. Front's team, Smart Instinct and Ridgeline bill for hours or scoped projects, so after the 90-day build window or the last pack, the incentive to read your agent's conversations ends unless you sign a retainer. Fini bills per resolution and Macha per ticket, so their revenue drops when the agent stops answering well, and the weekly tuning sits inside the price you already pay. Our implementation cost guide runs the same math across help desks.
How do you vet a Front consultant without a directory?
- Ask your Front account manager. Front knows which firms it works with, including the "partner integrators" it mentions for specific industries. It's the only check that reaches Front's own list.
- Ask for a live Front workspace reference. A firm that has built Front for an email-heavy team can name one, and you can ask that client what broke in week three.
- Ask which Front AI pieces they've shipped since October 5, 2026. Front rewrote its AI agent setup then, and Playbooks created before October 6 stay on a legacy version. Someone who has only built rules and tags hasn't shown you AI work.
- Read the certification for what it is. Front's partner certification is a sales and demo credential; individual courses in Front Academy show product knowledge, not delivery.
Questions to ask before you sign:
- How many Front workspaces have you built, and which used Autopilot or an external agent?
- Who on your team will configure ours, and can we talk to them before signing?
- Do you resell Front, and does that change our license price?
- What do you need from us: admin access, a conversation export, policies, a point person?
- How will you test the AI on our past conversations before customers see it?
- What's included after go-live, for how long, and what does tuning cost each month?
- Who owns the rules, Playbooks and documentation when you leave?
- Will you quote a resolution rate before seeing our data? (The good answer is no.)
Red flags:
- A "Front Certified Partner" badge offered as proof of implementation skill.
- References from shared-inbox setups only, with nothing on Autopilot, Playbooks or external agents.
- A guaranteed deflection or resolution percentage before anyone has read your conversations.
- A statement of work that ends at go-live, with no line for who fixes wrong answers afterward.
- Automations planned for individual inboxes. Front's AI agents only automate shared inboxes, as our guide to shared and individual inboxes explains.
When don't you need anyone?
You don't need a partner if Front already works the way you want and the only new piece is AI. Front's Autopilot is built for your admin to set up, and Front's community team has pointed customers to weekly office hours included in their plan. A Front Enterprise team with a strong knowledge base and mostly English chat can usually do it in-house; Front AI explained covers what each AI product does, and building an AI agent for Front covers the do-it-yourself path on Macha.
Hire a partner when the project is bigger than the AI: a first Front rollout, a move from Zendesk or a shared mailbox, a rules and tags rebuild, or custom integrations. Choose a vendor's own agent when nobody internal has time to read the agent's conversations every week.
| You are | Start with | Why |
|---|---|---|
| A team on a contract above $25K a year, new to Front | Front Success Services | Onboarding is required anyway |
| A team that wants a fixed price and owns Front afterward | Smart Instinct | Published tiers, documented handover |
| An email-heavy team leaving a shared Gmail or Outlook mailbox, AI in scope | Ridgeline | Migration and Autopilot setup in one project |
| A small team with one bounded fix | A freelancer, or Front's office hours | A $10,000 package is more than the job |
| A Front Enterprise team with good docs | Your own admin | Autopilot is built for admins |
| A team that wants AI on Front without anyone maintaining it | A vendor that runs its own agent, such as Fini or Macha | Setup and tuning sit in the subscription |

Common questions
Does Front have an implementation partner directory?
No, not on October 14, 2026: front.com/partners returned a 404. Front runs a channel program for firms that resell Front and an integration program for app builders. In August 2026 its developer relations team wrote that Front doesn't have a reliable network of implementation partners yet.
Who can set up Front AI for us?
Your own Front admin, Front's Success Services team, an agency such as Smart Instinct or Ridgeline, or a freelancer. A vendor such as Fini or Macha sets up its own agent on your Front instead of configuring Autopilot.
How much does Front's professional services team cost?
Front's published sheet lists Professional Onboarding at $10,000 for 25 hours, Enterprise Onboarding at $23,000 for 60 hours, and extra hours in 8-hour packs at $3,000. Onboarding is required on contracts above $25K ARR. Custom technical work is priced on scope.
Does Front's onboarding include Autopilot setup?
Not as a listed item. The package scope covers project management, workflow consultation, training and change management. You can ask for Autopilot work inside the hours, but plan the AI as its own piece of work.
Is Macha a Front partner?
No. Macha is a separate AI agent that connects to your Front with an API token. It doesn't resell Front, configure Autopilot or run Front migrations.
How we researched this
On October 14, 2026 we checked front.com/partners (a 404) and read Front's channel partner page, its developer docs on partnering, its integrations directory, the Front Academy partner learning path, the Success Services sheet linked from Front's pricing page, and six Front Community threads from March 2024 to August 2026 in which customers asked for consultants. We searched the web for firms selling Front implementation and Front AI setup, and the UK government's G-Cloud 15 catalog, which returned no Front services. We then read each provider's own Front page; Ridgeline's site renders in the browser, so we read its text from the site's own code and a page fetch. Freelance data comes from Freelancer.com and Contra pages read the same day; we didn't log in to any marketplace. Fini details come from Front's help center and Fini's pricing page. Front's Autopilot prices come from Front's help center, read for our Front AI implementation guide the same day. Arithmetic: $10,000 / 25 = $400; $23,000 / 60 ≈ $383; $3,000 / 8 = $375; $10,500 + 12 × $1,000 = $22,500; $10,000 + 2 × $3,000 = $16,000. The scores are ours, applied by one reviewer to public pages only. We found three providers that sell Front implementation on a public page and didn't add firms we couldn't verify. For the same question on other help desks, see our cross-desk partner ranking and the AI customer support implementation guide.
